Crocheted Gray Wool Lacy Virus Shawl / Wrap

$250.00

This beautiful and elegant shawl was crocheted up in stylish marled gray wool. The design is known as The Virus Shawl (original designer unknown). The name isn’t wonderful, but I think it’s been deemed to mean how contagious crocheting up this pattern is, both in how many crocheters have likely made one, and how much you want to keep working on it once you get started.

The yarn I used is called “Gray Twist” from Knitcrate. The base is called “La Brebis” and it is a marled sock yarn, with 40% merino wool, 40% Peruvian highland wool and 20% nylon. It is naturally colored, not dyed, and the color combines a dark, charcoal gray with a much lighter gray, maybe even more of a cream or natural.

I photographed it in natural light and think the color has come through fairly true, perhaps it’s a bit darker in person. Please note there may be some tonal differences in real life.

The shawl is generously sized as I made it with 2 skeins of fingering weight yarn. It measures about 31” tall at the center point, with a 68” wingspan at the longest point on the top.

The shawl comes prewashed, from a smoke free, but dog friendly home.

Care Instructions: Hand wash, with wool wash or a gentle soap or detergent. Lay out flat to air dry, NEVER in the dryer.
